About the Sea Hunt Fishing Charter

The Sea Hunt is the most versatile boat in the fleet — a nimble 22′ vessel built for anglers and adventurers alike, launching right from Playa Potrero. Whether you're chasing inshore fish, exploring the coastline, or slipping into the water to snorkel, she's rigged to do it all in a single day on the Guanacaste Pacific.

Captain Walter is at the heart of every Sea Hunt trip. A seasoned local guide, he tailors each charter to what you're after — reading the season to put anglers on the best bite, or steering the day toward snorkeling spots, Witches Rock surf trips, and wildlife encounters along the coast. Powered by a new 175hp Suzuki four-stroke and equipped with a fish finder and top-tier tackle, the boat runs smooth and reliable wherever the day takes you.

With snorkel gear aboard, fresh fruit, snacks, and cold drinks served throughout, the Sea Hunt is the ideal choice for families and small groups who want flexibility — a private day on the water that can be all fishing, all snorkeling, or the best of both.

Onboard Your Sea Hunt Fishing Charter

What Your Sea Hunt Charter Provides

  • Private charter with your local guide: A fully private charter led by Captain Walter, an experienced local guide who knows the inshore waters and wildlife around Potrero.
  • Fishing and snorkeling gear: Top-tier fishing tackle plus quality snorkel gear, so you're equipped to fish, snorkel, or do both in one trip.
  • Fish finder onboard: An onboard fish finder to locate the best inshore bite and put you on fish faster.
  • Customized itinerary: A flexible day built around what you want — fishing, snorkeling, an ocean safari, or any mix of the three.
  • Refreshments aboard: Fresh fruit, snacks, and cold beverages kept stocked throughout your trip.
  • Professional fish cleaning: Complete cleaning and preparation of your catch, ready to take with you.

Preparing for Your Sea Hunt Trip

  • Sun protection: A hat and reef-safe, high-SPF sunscreen — the tropical sun is intense out on the water, and reef-safe matters on snorkeling stops.
  • Polarized sunglasses: Polarized lenses cut the glare off the water and make it easier to spot fish.
  • Swimsuit and towel: A swimsuit and towel — snorkeling and swimming are part of the day on the Sea Hunt.
  • Waterproof camera: A camera or phone in a waterproof case, or a dedicated waterproof camera, to capture the fishing and the reef.
  • Mandatory fishing license: A valid $15 Costa Rica fishing license is required for fishing and is the client's responsibility, secured before boarding — how to obtain a fishing license. Apply online at INCOPESCA
